If you are searching for a job, this story is a serious warning.
In a major crackdown under the 'Cyber Vajra' campaign, the Cyber Crime Police in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, busted a gang allegedly involved in a large-scale job scam. The police arrested 19 people, including the alleged kingpin, Deepak Kumar Shah, and rescued around 300 job seekers.
According to the investigation, the accused allegedly operated a fake company called Mahadev Enterprises and lured unemployed youth with promises of jobs offering a monthly salary of ₹25,000. In the name of registration and processing fees, they allegedly collected ₹30,000 to ₹35,000 from each applicant.
Police also revealed that nearly ₹4 crore was transacted through the main accused's bank account over the past year. During the raid, officers seized 20 mobile phones, one laptop, and two luxury cars.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are trying to identify more victims and possible links to a wider fraud network.
