Meerut, Uttar Pradesh: A woman Sub-Inspector, Anu Rani, has been suspended after her social media activity reportedly came under scrutiny for allegedly violating departmental guidelines.
Anu Rani is known for her involvement in the police action related to the high-profile Saurabh Rajput murder case, in which Muskaan Rastogi was arrested along with her alleged accomplice.
According to reports, Anu Rani was active on social media and allegedly appeared LIVE late at night, posting videos and other content. Some of the content reportedly raised concerns within the police department regarding professional conduct and the dignity associated with the police uniform.
Following the matter, senior police officials ordered action against the woman Sub-Inspector and suspended her with immediate effect. A departmental inquiry has also been initiated to examine the social media posts and determine whether departmental rules were violated.
The technical aspects of the viral content are also being examined, with the Cyber Cell involved in the investigation.
The case has now attracted attention because the officer who was earlier in the spotlight for her role in the Muskaan murder case arrest is herself facing departmental action over social media activity.
The final decision will depend on the findings of the departmental investigation.
