TIRUVALLUR, TAMIL NADU: A major tragedy has unfolded in Tamil Nadu, where a deadly industrial accident has claimed several lives and left dozens injured. According to reports, an ammonia gas leak occurred at a seafood export factory in Tiruvallur district, triggering panic among workers and leading to a large-scale emergency response.
The incident has so far claimed the lives of seven women employees, while more than 65 workers have been reported injured. The situation remains critical, with nine of the injured currently on ventilator support and undergoing intensive medical treatment.
The accident reportedly took place at the St. Peter's Paul Seafoods Exports Unit, where toxic ammonia gas suddenly began leaking during working hours. Workers rushed to escape the affected area as chaos erupted inside the facility.
