In a remarkable step towards environmental conservation, Shree Swaminarayan Temple, Kalupur (Ahmedabad) has launched a massive plantation drive in Piplaj village, Gandhinagar, with a target of planting around 600,000 trees.
The initiative supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign and aligns with Union Home Minister Amit Shah's vision of making the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency greener and more environmentally sustainable.
Actor Mayur Vakani, popularly known as "Sundar Mama" from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, also participated in the campaign, encouraging people to protect nature and plant more trees.
What makes this initiative unique is that the temple administration has pledged to care for and maintain all the saplings for the next five years, ensuring their healthy growth instead of simply planting them.
