West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has given the Kolkata Police until Sunday, August 18, to solve the case. If they fail, the investigation will be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The CM also mentioned that the victim’s parents believe someone from within the hospital may have been involved in the crime. Several hospital officials have already been removed from their positions as a result of the ongoing investigation​
